The Capital Region Water Board, is a
non-profit corporation
under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and incorporated for
the purposes of improving public water management in the Capital Region
of Pennsylvania and enhancing regional cooperation.
The Board serves a Region of 1.8 million
people,
eight counties in the Lower Susquehanna River Basin. During its 13-
year
history, the Board has conducted studies of water systems and it is now
broadening its work into a comprehensive water management study of the
Lower Susquehanna River Basin.
Phase I of the Study- Data Collection and
Problem
Identification has been completed and the Board is now preparing Phase
II which is a much more comprehensive effort to identify problems and
propose
solutions for that watershed. In addition, the Board is conducting a
Water
Supply Study of the Swatara Creek, one of the tributaries of the
Susquehanna
River.
